the upcoming Jeri Lane Demonstration Project.
Boulder City Temporary Demonstration Project
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, in partnership with Boulder City, is implementing a temporary traffic calming demonstration project on Jeri Lane between Gloria Lane and Darlene Way.
This project will install two speed cushions along Jeri Lane to evaluate how this treatment performs in a real-world neighborhood setting.

Why this project was selected
During earlier outreach for the Safe Streets for All Southern Nevada Action Plan, Boulder City residents shared concerns about:
- Speeding on neighborhood streets
- Limited pedestrian visibility
- Overall neighborhood roadway safety
What are speed cushions?
Speed cushions are a type of traffic calming measure designed to:
- Reduce vehicle speeds
- Improve neighborhood safety
- Allow emergency vehicles to pass more easily
Below is an example of a speed cushion:

What to Expect
Residents and motorists can expect the following during installation and removal:
- Work will occur during daytime hours
- Intermittent noise during active work periods
- Up to two days to complete installation and removal
- Temporary flagging operations to guide traffic
Noise and any minor traffic disruptions will be limited to active work periods and are not expected once the speed cushions are in place. Exact work hours will be confirmed closer to the installation date.

Understanding where crashes happen is key to improving safety. Developed with crash data from NDOT, the Safer Streets Priority Network identifies the roads and intersections with the highest concentrations of traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. These locations, identified through crash data, are where safety improvements need attention.
